Keeping Everything Safe and Sound

I am a dog fetching for a ball
speeding rapidly towards the miniature ball!
I am a soccer net waiting
for the smooth wind to push me
strongly and hardly passed
the white and green line.
I am AC/DC yelling as loud
as the speakers can yapper.
I'm the number 9,682,3499,
winning everything in sight.
I'm saliva ready to get gulped down
a person's body.
I'm heaven keeping everything
safe and sound.
I'm a bed ready to get crunched softly.

I am a horse,
racing like the wind.

 Lifting Hearts Off Delicate Matters

by Grace

I am a swirling mass of writhing sound, hovering above the parched dunes.
I am a patch of moist, muddy moss in the middle of a murky, muddy swamp.
I am a flavorless, nauseating, mushy peach ready to soar out of the window,
leaving my disgusted launching pad behind.
I am a twisted piece of sushi, filled with slippery seaweed and refreshingly peppery wasabi, ready to combust at the hands of a child.
I am a wildcat, screaming shrilly in the clingy night.
I am a blunt axe, rusty with blood, ready for a new meal of nutritious flesh.
I am a silky, slimy salve, slathered over a suspicious woman's scratch skin.
I am a time of disaster, of shadow, but a time of new life, of sweet start.
I am a rushing, evil flood, swirling around houses, dunking trees and brushes,
 unfairly destroying civilized life.
I am golden brown cello lifting hearts off delicate matters and placing them on an enveloping bed with plush pillows.
I am a peculiar sound creeping through cracks and making the evil shudder.
I am a gritty car, covered with dents, with miles and miles to go before
I rest my ambitions.
This is me.

As Delicate as Glass

I am as delicate as glass.
I am the dark, dark night.
I am as fast as a tiger,
catching its prey.
I am the skin of the trunk of a tree.
I am as colorful as a rainbow,
after it rains.
I am the soft couch with
squirmy feathers.
I am a hard notebook,
opening and closing.

When I'm older,
I will be an artist,
painting the picture of the
biggest flower in town.
When I am older,
I will be a chef with the
best food in the city.
"This food is awesome!"
everyone says.

I am a zooming race car,
beating all of the other cars.
I am seven thousand legos
being built into a castle.

The Attack of the Hyenas
by Ari

I will be a leopard creeping
through the forest, signaling.
I am about to pounce.
I lower my front paws to the ground and
my back paws up and
I spring up and there is
a black out.
I open my eyes and I have
caught one.  I slowly bring it to my tree.
I freeze.
I see a lot of glowing eyes.
I sniff the air.
I leap down.
I sense it closer.
I know what they are.
A whole pack of hyenas.
They are out on a hunt for food.
I start to defend.
They strike one by one.
I am getting worried about it so
I give up and I give them the food I caught.
I creep off with my head hung in
shame, shame, shame.

Yummy, What?

by Alex

I am a football filed, filled with excitement.
I am a football grabbed by the awful hands of the offense.
I'm a kinder egg being eaten by a super, drooly kid,
devouring a bite every minute.
I'm a football game in the spring in,
well, rainy California at the moment,
roaring like thunder.
I'm a piece of super hot pizza, held in an oven that is 100 degrees.
I'm a hammer smacking a nail
like a shark snapping its mouth to a fish.
I'm the number one to my three numbers,
Nicolas, Luca and I.
I'm a word:  powerful.
Fast and powerful.
I'm a river zooming down the hill.
I'm a metal bench always looking to see what I look like.
I'm 11:59 about to hear the dong, dong, dong, dong, dong, dong, dong, dong,
dong, dong, dong, dong, dong,
of 12:00 racing through.
I'm a crumb of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich,
getting devoured slowly.

by Micah

I am a piece of salmon sushi, dipped in soy sauce.
I am a soccer ball getting kicked around in the green field.
I am a king-sized bed full of feathers.
I am the color green like the forest.
I am a tiger eating its prey.
I am a square, making little square minions.
I am the number 59.
I am the sound of a tiger's roar,
catching prey.

The Color of Silver Sparkling in the Glossy Sky
by Chloe

I am a dolphin, jumping out of the glimmering blue ocean.
I am a violin singing a song of love.
I am number two, playing with number one.
I am the color of silver sparkling in the glossy sky.
The word glamorous is hiding behind my eyes
waiting to come out and speak to the whole world
gathered together in one place.
I am a lollipop with a splash of colors behind me.
I am a morning glory, sprouting out of the ground,
seeing the beautiful sights for the first time.
I will be a grown-up understanding every word
in the languages Spanish and English.

As Soon as my Boots Thump the Ground
by Ray

I am a squishy piece of jello
bouncing up and down as each and every
person sits.
I am the lightning that strikes people's home,
shutting down all of NYC.
I am the excitement of nature as soon
as my boots thump on the ground,
trees piercing the grand vines,
climbing the buildings.
I am a lunatic crashing through windows.
I am the slippery sushi
jumping down someone's throat saying,
"Yahoo!"

Shivering
by Cyrus

I am a flying fox soaring in the air like a hawk
trying to catch the sun.
I am a Venus flytrap attacking a bug like a
snake squashing a rat.
I am so happy all the time, like a flying, fluttering and
shining new instrument being bought at the fantastic music store.
I am a shining, glittering, shooting, beautiful star
glittering like the silver sun, glittering everywhere.
I am so happy like a song with silver arrows
so big my happiness will never stop, stop, stop,
even when I die.
I am such a lovely sound, like the golden, silver band,
so precious, the most precious of them all,
of them all, all, all.
I am the number one, happiest in my family,
at least I think I am, in my own way.
I am a piece of future like them all, all, all.
I am the food as silver, gold as the world.
I am the word of god, like the one of them all,
all, all, all,
shivering like the silver,
shivering, shivering, shivering.

The Gleaming Ocean Waves
by Elsa

I am a twinkling star in the dark, black night.
I am the wind screaming through the blue bird sky.
I am the beautiful sight of the mountains in Yellowstone Park.
I am a blazing spark of fire in the pitch black night.
I am the sneaky old snake who lives in the creaky old cabin.
I will be the huge ball of fire, steaming through the trees in
the still, freaky night.
I will hope for the sparkling sun to shine
down on me, the gleaming ocean waves.

The Pencil Zooming Down the Page

as I give her an awesome present.
I am any child's dream,

gulp,
yum,
bacon bartender.

The Glossy Couch

I am a cheetah jumping over hurdles
beating my other competitors and
winning first place in track.
I am a guitar strumming to the tune of love.
I am the color pink,
or should I say,
sassy pink,
walking with a model down the runway.
I am the rap song that you hear on the radio.
I am the person who just won America's Top Model,
crying and hugging Tyra Banks as they give me the
reward of 100,000 dollars.
I am a sofa,
a very bedazzled sofa,
only the finest people sit on me.
The glossy couch.
I am a sweet and sour piece of chocolate
getting swallowed by a person.
I am an unknown shape,
a squiggle, but straight and smooth,
but bumpy thing.
I am the words brilliant and dazzling.
I am me,
Ana.
